hey i made a thing

i wrote a short story for school a while back, and i just had the thought that you guys would get a good kick out of it. it’s not the greatest piece of work i’ve written, but i still feel a bit proud of it.

ALsO, there’s multiple easter references/easter eggs/whatever you kids call ’em. so if you see any, lemme know. ;D Continue reading “hey i made a thing”

My mom had been driving me home the other day from softball practice, and I saw this sunset and just had to take some photos. I uploaded then to my computer and played around with the effects on some of ’em. Enjoy.

(also, please excuse the grainy quality. I was in a moving car and it was just an iPhone camera.)

*ignores light pole cameo*

*Is reminded of old musicals*

I love how I was able to get the pond reflecting sunlight off the water on this one.

Sadly, I wasn’t able to get any shots of the sun over the rolling hills and farmhouses, as by that time, the sun was on the driver’s side of the car. Couldn’t exactly have stretched my arm across her face, now could I?

But even as I had taken these, I kept marveling about how amazing it looked in real life. How something of God’s creation as simple as a sunset can still be so stunning.

Thanks for taking the time to read,

2017 goals of some sort or other

oh you say I can’t post 2017 goals(/resolutions/bucket list/something) in the middle of February?

well excuuuuuuuse me

I dare to be different.

-start a bullet journal-

I mean. I came across the idea from sunshine, and it looked pretty nice. I live a pretty messed up life, despite being a bit of a clean freak. So hey, let’s give it a shot?

And maybe a post about it? I dunno what do you guys think?

-begin photography-

I’m not gonna go all hardcore or anything with this, but I just love what people can do with something as simple as a camera. And plus, me being the un-socialized homeschooler who gets of the house, like, three times a week, this sounds like a cool hobby to pursue during my free time.

-exercise more-

Softball season’s coming up and I’ve definitely been letting down on fitness. So I’ll try to make it a habit to work out or do some form of exercise at least three times a week. Maybe increase as time progresses..

-make music videos-

Another branch of the technology world that I’ve gotten pretty interested in is filmography. Not exactly movies or shorts, but more like music videos and character videos. I’m still new to it all, but it’s pretty neat.

(and can we just talk about these videos that normal people made like this one and this one and this one and how they look so professional and cause so many feels and just all the goals *sobs in corner from lack of skill*)

-self care-

it kinda runs in the family to not exactly have the cleanest face when it comes to acne, so I’m definitely trying to break it down a bit by washing my face regularly and getting some real products and stuff. Plus drink lotsa water. I have a pretty nice water bottle that I can just take with me wherever I go.

-overall productivity-

The past six months or so, I was beginning to turn into what we ‘muricans call the “Couch Potato”. (to be honest I’m probably always one at heart…)  Well I really wanna change that as it really effected my behavior and productivity level. I really wanna just get better at that, so I’ma try to strive towards a better lifestyle. Going to sleep earlier*, working harder at school, eating better, etc.

*probably gonna be the hardest of them all… YO NIGHT OWL SQUAD WHERE YA ATtalk-to-me-fam-2

What are your guys’ goals? How’re they going? Please tell me I’m not the only person who “accidentally” stays up till 11:30 on week nights reading Magnus Chase…

ALSO. Can we just talk about how it’s seriously 80 degrees outside earlier today? Don’t mind me, just low-key freaking out about what summer’s gonna be like..

If you passed by this, thanks for reading. It’s good to be back.

a new start

So my last post was about six months ago…

I know I’ve been pretty offline for so long, and I’m sorry about that. I haven’t been updated with other blogs, I’ve gotten behind in my blog designs, I kept delaying things I was committed to, and I just feel so bad about it. I’m really sorry guys for not being there when I was expected. I completely have forgotten about so many things and I just botched up.

I’m not saying this is the only reason I’ve been away, but definitely a big part of it is because I’ve just grown out of my blog. I’ve matured way more than I thought in the past year and a half, and I kinda just got sick of my blog. I didn’t like the design or where I was going with it. Tbh, it felt like I didn’t really have a plan for it. It was just mindless posts that I didn’t put much time and effort into. It was a pathetic blog, and I didn’t want to be a part of it anymore.

So I’m restarting.

Give myself a new, fresh beginning and try again.

And that means everything. Design, niche, and, if it comes to it, friends. I’m wanting to start from scratch and just reboot myself.

Because I do love blogging. It’s fun to share thoughts and make new friends. But I just hated with where I was going. My blog seemed like it was owned by a ten-year-old, while there are ten-year-olds out there who have blogs like teens.

I want to thank all the nice comments you guys left me while I was gone, as that really helped motivate me to get back going. ❤

So over the next few weeks, I’m going to be redesigning and rethinking the whole blog and posting a little bit to talk about the journey. I’m also going to try to catch up on all your guys’ blogs, but that may be a bit slow going. 😉

Thanks again guys for your support. 🙂

Abortion – They Understand But They Don’t Admit | by Allie

Guys you seriously need to read this. I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Girls Living For God's Glory

Today, my mom was calculating Student Loan payment and what not on a government student loan site. They asked her many questions, but one caught her eye. She soon brought this question to my attention;

The following questions will be used to calculate your family size. Do not include yourself or your spouse (if applicable) in your responses to these questions. You and your spouse, as appropriate, are automatically included in your family size.
How many children, including unborn children, are in your family and receive more than half of their support from you?

This pretty much proves that even the government believes that children in the womb are still in fact children. Because if they did not, why would they say ‘including unborn children’ to calculate your affordability payment? They want to know how many children you are supporting and an unborn child still counts as a child in their…

CWWC Challenge #9 | Part 3 | The Final Countdown

And yes, it is the final challenge of CWWC.

*sniff sniff*

That also means that you will be getting a MASSIVELY AMAZING story today! *dances around throwing confetti and balloons everywhere*

So yeah.

(Although be aware, as this is pretty long. ((and by pretty long, I mean about 2500 words or something…))😜)

Note to Loren: I used 19 prompts from previous challenges and 2 prompts from Challenge 9. And Part 3 is the only part I am entering for Challenge 9.

Part 1 | Part 2

After Jasper’s foot was healed enough she could walk, they set out on their journey again. As they neared their destination, Aria became more and more depressed.

This was a place she had vowed to never return to.

This was a place she had never wanted to return to.

This was a place she had broken her heart.

Finally, they arrived. Continue reading “CWWC Challenge #9 | Part 3 | The Final Countdown”

CWWC Entry Challenge #8 | Part 2

So I know that Loren’s CWWC (Creative Worlds Writing Camp) has already gone onto Challenge 9, but I just wanted to show you peoples the second part for Challenge 8.

Hope ya like it. 🙂

Part 1

They traveled for many days. If they came across a small, deserted village—as there were many in this land—the girls would run inside the houses to scavenge for food, while Aria hunted with her bow and arrows for any wild animals lurking around the ruins.

As they traveled on the roads, the girls would tell Aria more about their past. Apparently, there had been a small creek about half a mile from their house. They would go there once a day to get water at noontime, when there weren’t as many wild animals running around.
And before their parents had become “ill”, they had taught the girls how to cultivate a garden and find edible roots in the forest surrounding the house.
As they talked more and more, Aria found that Esther was ten years old, Jasper was eight, and Lilly was five.
Lilly had taken to clinging to Aria whenever possible, even if it meant hanging onto her leg while she tried to walk. Jasper was more of the quiet type, and would mostly stick to herself when we walked.
“Oh don’t mind her,” Lilly told Aria when she asked if Jasper was alright. “She does it all the time,” and then continued to play with her little doll Aria had made for her out of sticks and long grass. Continue reading “CWWC Entry Challenge #8 | Part 2”
